Color Me Bad. Exclusive Color Light Therapy at Tru Spa Makes for an Out-of-this-World Massage Experience
TRU spa's signature TruTherapy massage utilizes color light therapy, also known as chromatherapy, to bring you to a state of total physical and psychological well-being.
There is evidence of color light therapy dating back to ancient Egypt, Babylon, and India. Use of modern chromatherapy healing techniques started in the late 17th century, after Sir Isaac Newton discovered that light is actually made up of a spectrum of colors that can be individually separated. Since then, chromatherapy has been used to treat a variety of both physical and psychological ailments. Most recently, research has found positive effects of light therapy on seasonal affective disorders and other forms of depression.
How does color light therapy work? When color from light falls on receptors in the eyes and skin, it is converted into electric impulses that travel to the brain and stimulate the production of certain hormones. This, in turn, affects a variety of physiological processes, including mood, mental alertness, and well being. In fact, the health and psychological benefits of chromatherapy are quite similar to those of aromatherapy, which has long been used by spas to enhance the massage experience. By combining chromatherapy with aromatherapy, TRU is pioneering the future of massage therapy.
Based on your choice, TRU's TruTherapy massage is focused on energizing, relaxing, or detoxifying therapies. Each therapy is characterized by its own specially tailored massage, heat-sensitive aromatherapy balm, and unique "trulight" computer-controlled chromatherapy program, which utilizes a combination of different colored lights specially tailored for your type of massage. Each element of the therapy works in conjunction with the others to maximize the desired effect of the therapy for an unmatched massage experience (75 or 105 minutes).
